When Jim Nicola invited Alan Rickman to do a master class here at NYTW, Alan responded that he would prefer the event be more of a discussion with a group of young actors rather than a class per se.

Thirty actors with differing perspectives and levels of experience gathered for a free dialogue, proceeding from a video of the deaf percussionist Evelyn Glennie on the art of listening and punctuated with scene work prepared by some of the participants guided by Mr. Rickman.
